October 13, 2014Premier Ag Sees Opportunity for Growers with new Wheat Terminal
October 13, 2014Premier Ag customer Jeff Wilson will represent Premier Ag and Southern Indiana growers at the Agricultural Retailers Association Annual Conference and Expo December 2-4 in New Orleans. Wilson will participate in the Precision Farming Panel moderated by Dave Downey, Executive Director of the Center for Food and Agricultural Business and Professor Emeritus at Purdue University.
Wilson and his wife, Lora, farm in Johnson County. They have incorporated auto-steer, variable rate planting, electric drive Precision vac meters with WaveVision seed tubes and Precision’s DeltaForce down pressure system, and FieldView Plus to log all planting data. Beginning this fall, they will be using Precision’s YieldSense to provide more precise yield data.
“We import all data and activities by field starting with soil test analysis, fertilizer application, planting, spraying, scouting, and harvest data,” Wilson said. “This allows us to incorporate solid, accurate data when making crop input decisions to better manage our crops. It’s about optimizing those input decisions to maximize profitability.”
